Excision Tattoo Removal
Excision for tattoo removal is where a tattoo is literally cut out of your skin and the wound sutured closed. This method will leave a scar but is suitable for smaller tattoos. The results are immediate and the treatment generally inexpensive. It is a relatively simple method and has a relatively speedy recovery phase if no infections or other complications occur. This procedure is performed under local anesthetic, depending upon the size.
Advantages - If successful, the tattoo is removed completely.
Disadvantages and Risks - Scarring, risk of infection of wound.
This method of tattoo removal should be performed by a trained medical professional.
