Salabrasion Tattoo Removal
Removing a tattoo by salabrasion is a form of dermabrasion and one of the older methods of removing tattoos. It has been described as one of the more brutal procedures for removing a tattoo - a local anesthetic is given to the tattooed and surrounding area, a wet cloth or piece of gauze is dipped in salt and then vigorously rubbed over the tattoo until the entire area turns a deep shade of red. A rotary like tool may also be used to more effectively peel away the skin and pigments. Basically, the area is rubbed until it is raw and it will certainly require bandaging afterward.
Soreness, scabbing and tenderness can be expected with this method of tattoo removal.
